As a Gates Millennium Scholar, Luisa completed her bachelor’s degree specializing in neuroscience & physiology at the University of California, San Diego. She co-authored a book titled “Mexican Migration and the U.S. Economic Crisis: A Transitional Perspective”. Subsequently, Luisa became a licensed Emergency Medical Technician where she provided her services for three years in Imperial County on the U.S.-Mexico border, which has the highest unemployment rate in California.
In her former position as STEM program manager at the Institute of the Americas, she has taken STEM Programs to an international audience designing workshops for students and instructors in Argentina and Mexico.
